Bhagat Singh Remembered at AAFT University

New Delhi: Bhagat Singh’s name is synonymous with the revolutionary movement that contributed to India’s freedom struggle. Celebrated for his gusto and courage to stand up to the British rule, Bhagat Singh was born in 1907 and gave his life for the country when he was sentenced to death by execution at the ripe age of 23 along with his associates Rajguru and Sukhdev on the charges of assassinating British police officer John Saunders, who had ordered brutal police action on independence movement leader Lala Lajpat Rai.

“We all are indebted to this great leader who has laid his life for the country and left permanent mark on the minds of Indians. He is an ideal for youth of this country and all time example of love for the Nation. Let’s shout him name him again and again to develop a new energy to work for the motherland,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts on the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh motivating students of all classes.

Sandeep Marwah repeated the quotes said by Bhagat Singh in loud voice ”Life is lived on its own, other’s shoulders are used only at the time of funeral. May the Sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, than this our own Country. Any man who stands for progress has to criticize, disbelieve and challenge every item of the old faith. The people generally get accustomed to the established order of things and begin to tremble at the very idea of a change. It is this lethargically spirit that needs be replaced by the revolutionary spirit.”. The event finished with National anthem and supported by Bhagat Singh Forum at Marwah Studios.
