Dr. Sandeep Marwah Reviews Progress of SSD 13 Media & Entertainment Committee at Bureau of Indian Standards. New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair, Media and Entertainment Committee (SSD 13), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, convened a review meeting today to take a first-hand assessment of the progress made by various sectional committees under SSD 13. The meeting focused on evaluating the extensive work completed towards developing and strengthening national standards across the diverse domains of the media and entertainment industry.
Dr. Marwah, who is also the Founder of Noida Film City and Marwah Studios, and Chancellor of AAFT University, expressed deep appreciation for the remarkable volume and quality of work undertaken in framing standards related to Print Media, Radio, Television, Cinema, New Media, OTT platforms, Events, and Media Education, among others. He lauded the structured approach and collaborative spirit demonstrated by the committee members in aligning Indian media standards with global best practices while keeping the unique needs of the Indian industry in mind.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said, “The formulation of comprehensive and forward-looking standards is essential for the sustainable growth, quality assurance, and global competitiveness of India’s media and entertainment sector. I am highly impressed by the dedication and expertise reflected in the work done by all the committees under SSD 13. These standards will play a crucial role in professionalizing the industry and ensuring excellence across platforms.”
Dr. Marwah thanked all the committee members for their commitment and valuable contributions. He offered special appreciation to Mr. Shivam Soni, Deputy Director and Scientist, BIS, for his consistent support and technical guidance, and extended special thanks to Mr. Rajneesh Khosla, Head SSD & International Affairs, Bureau of Indian Standards, for his leadership, vision, and continuous encouragement in driving the standardization process forward.
The meeting reaffirmed BIS’s commitment to developing robust, relevant, and future-ready standards for the rapidly evolving media and entertainment ecosystem in India.
