Noida, 29th December: His Excellency Arunkoemar Hardien, Ambassador of Suriname, was presented with the prestigious Award of Distinction for the Surinamese film “Wiren” directed by Ivan Tai Apin during the 17th Global Film Festival Noida 2024 at Marwah Film City, Noida.
Accepting the award, H.E. Arunkoemar Hardien expressed his pride and gratitude. “Wiren is not just a film; it is a testament to the power of resilience and the human spirit. I am deeply honored to accept this award on behalf of the filmmakers and the people of Suriname. This recognition further strengthens the cultural ties between Suriname and India,” he said.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Global Film Festival and ICMEI, commended the film for its storytelling and artistic excellence. “Wiren is a remarkable film that highlights universal themes of determination and equality.
