India’s First-Ever “Xtreme Champions League” Gaming Competition Launched at Marwah Studios in Grand Ceremony

Noida – May 2025 – In a historic move that signals India’s accelerating momentum in the global digital entertainment arena. The first-ever “Xtreme Champions League” Gaming Competition Launched at Marwah Studios, in collaboration with the AAFT School of Animation and the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI). The event marked a defining moment for the Indian gaming and animation ecosystem such as attracting attention from national and international cultural leaders, educationists, and industry stakeholders.

The grand opening ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by esteemed guests. Such as symbolizing the dawn of a new era in interactive entertainment. The event  conceived as a dynamic platform to encourage innovation, digital storytelling, and youth engagement in the booming fields of gaming and animation.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University and Founder of Marwah Studios. Welcomed the dignitaries and participants with his powerful vision: “Gaming is no longer just a pastime. Hence it is a global industry of immersive experiences, employment, and education. Animation and gaming are the rising pillars of the creative economy, and through this competition, we are opening the doors of opportunity, collaboration, and excellence for our youth.”

The occasion further elevated by references to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vocal support for India’s gaming sector. Hence the Prime Minister has highlighted the industry as a “key driver of economic growth and cultural innovation,” underlining the government’s commitment to digital empowerment and skill development.

Hence international participation added remarkable prestige to the event: Mr. Hiroki Kawasaki. Senior Director of Business Development at JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization). Addressed the audience with great enthusiasm: “India’s talent in animation and gaming globally admired. Events like these build bridges between markets like Japan and India, fostering cultural and commercial synergies.”

Mr. Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Venezuela, shared his reflections. Hence “Gaming is a universal language, and initiatives like this unite young minds across continents. I commend Marwah Studios for being at the forefront of cultural innovation.”

Ms. Avital Barak, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Israel, added a unique perspective. “Israel is a leader in technology and innovation, and we see India as a partner in this creative revolution. This gaming championship is a significant step toward building cross-border collaborations in digital storytelling.”

Mr. Ashish Garg, Dean of AAFT School of Animation, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks. Acknowledging the combined efforts of the teams, dignitaries, and student communities. “This championship is just the beginning. We envision India as a global hub for gaming development, content creation, and animation excellence.” Ayush Founder of Mellow Fox Studios, Vrinda Sood Founder and CEO Citrus Ink, Maria Jose Gomez Counsellor Embassy of Venezuela, Jenica Kalra of JETRO were also present there.

The Xtreme Champions League will host a series of competitive gaming tournaments, workshops, masterclasses, and career talks, offering students hands-on exposure to industry trends, tools, and entrepreneurial insights.

Hence this trailblazing initiative is set to become an annual celebration of youth talent, creative vision, and technological prowess. Strengthening India’s position as a future-ready leader in the global animation and gaming industry.
