Seminar on ‘Should Biopics Be Made on Women?’ Held During the 17th Global Film Festival Noida

Noida, India – The 17th Global Film Festival Noida hosted a thought-provoking seminar on the topic ‘Should Biopics Be Made on Women?’ The seminar brought together a diverse group of distinguished personalities who shared their insights and perspectives on the subject

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder-President of AAFT, emphasized the importance of honoring women through biopics, stating, “India has always been a leader, giving the world some of its most powerful women. Figures like Rani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi, Dr. Sarojini Naidu, and our current President, H.E. Draupadi Murmu, continue to inspire millions across the globe. Biopics are a vital medium to revisit history and serve as a source of motivation for generations to come.”

Hon. Jagannath Sarkar, Member of Parliament, expressed his views on the significance of biopics in showcasing the strength and achievements of women throughout history. Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr, Cultural Counsellor of Iran, highlighted the global relevance of such stories and their role in promoting gender equality and cultural appreciation. H.E. Dr. Ali Achoui, Ambassador of Algeria, spoke about the importance of women’s representation in media and cinema as a means to inspire change and progress.

Yanytzel Karina Duarte, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Panama, shared her perspective on how biopics bring the struggles and triumphs of women leaders to light, encouraging the younger generation to dream big and break barriers. Aakanksha Marwaha, representing the Film & Event Fraternity, emphasized the need for the film industry to focus on authentic storytelling that celebrates women’s accomplishments.

Vidhushi Makhijani, Model & Social Media Influencer, added that biopics serve as powerful tools to challenge stereotypes and inspire women to pursue their aspirations. Bhavna Agarwal, Content Creator, Model & Influencer, noted that biopics can educate and empower audiences while preserving the legacy of iconic women for future generations.

The seminar underscored the transformative impact of biopics in bringing women’s stories to the forefront, inspiring millions, and fostering a culture of respect, admiration, and empowerment. The audience also participated in the session. Neelam Sharma, Media Personality, Anuj Verma, Hospitality Veteran, Ashok Tyagi, Renowned Film Director also spoke on the subject.
