World Heart Day Celebrated by Global Yog Alliance and ICMEI

New Delhi: “Cardiovascular diseases take the lives of 17.9 million people every year, 31% of all global deaths. Triggering these diseases – which manifest primarily as heart attacks and strokes – are tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and the harmful use of alcohol. These in turn show up in people as raised blood pressure, elevated blood glucose and overweight and obesity, risks detrimental to good heart health,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah to the house on the celebration of World Heart Day by ICMEI in association with Global Yog Alliance and Heart Care Foundation.

 “Diet plays a major role in heart health and can impact your risk of heart disease. In fact, certain foods can influence blood pressure, triglycerides, cholesterol levels and inflammation, all of which are risk factors for heart disease. Eat healthy, Get active., Stay at a healthy weight, Quit smoking and stay away from second hand smoke, Control your cholesterol and blood pressure, Drink alcohol only in moderation, Manage stress,” explained by Dr. K.K.Agarwal of Heart care Foundation.

“At least 30 minutes a day and five days a week you should go for yoga,  brisk walking, running, swimming, cycling, playing tennis and jumping rope. Heart-pumping aerobic exercise is the kind that doctors have in mind when they recommend at least 150 minutes per week of moderate activity,.” added Dr.Gopal Ji president of Global Yog Alliance.

Large number of people young and old attended the seminar and were benefited by the doctor’s advice. International Chamber of Media And Entwrtainment Industry will be planning to have these kind of seminars on regular basis.
